Istitutio Marangoni London Campus Visit

MIMI VISITS
ISTITUTIO MARANGONI
LONDON

The Istitutio Marangoni School of Fashion is located in the Shoreditch area of London.  This part of London is like Tribecca in New York City - art-y, up and coming and hip.
Mimi said over the phone the area was a little "strange"

Her tour guide said it would be easy for her to gain admissions - now on our 'safety' school list but not to be fooled by that - the program will be hard work.
For more information on the school and it's fashion degree program read the blogs post June 11 2014

The school is small - one building.  Here are the photo's my husband took

Kind of cool, although it did remind me of a scene from the movie The Sixth Sense!

Housing is not included or offered.  Students need to find a flat to share or on their own.  If I recall from my earlier posting, the school will help prospective students with finding housing or some guidance.

The tour guide also informed Mimi that she would need to make her own fabric purchases, this cost is not a part of the program.

Hang on, should I have been asking that question all a long??  At Pratt, the art students have a store to shop for all their needs and it's linked up to their account and "paid" by the school (really, me - but you know what I mean).  I didn't ask about the fashion students during out visit - or any others.  A student going to Harvard Law school has to buy his own books - I've got to find out how this works for fashion students.

All in all she liked the school and it's fashion program and she liked Shoreditch in London
She walked away with a lot to think about and she knows she has to ask the fabric supply question each tour.  They gave her a lot of promotional material - every kid likes that!  Including a t-shirt with this image on it!

Next stop:  Central Saint Martins School
