Westminster Uiversity Visit and Tour - London

WESTMINSTER UNIVERSITY
TOUR AND VISIT
LONDON
please visit blog post from June 3, 2014 for more detailed research

Mimi is reporting to me over the phone about her visits.  It is at the end of their day out and about, she is tired and my husband is in the background pointing to his watch reminding her about cell phone minutes.
I get that, but there is a certain 'vibe' I got from her about this visit.  And it wasn't the greatest.
The building for the fashion program was "nice"considering how new it is, that's an understatement.  Her tour guide was not rude but curt.  Some people are.
She informed Mimi that "if" she qualified to attend, it's hard to gain admissions.  1,200 is the average amount of people who apply and 30-40 are admitted.  That could have cooled Mimi's interest, but she is doing well in high school - one that offers an AP Art class - which she is enrolled.  She liked being reminded of that.
She then said that if she got in and attended Westminster, her class size would be around 10 students per course.  Gotta like that!
Mimi also liked the fact that she wouldn't have to choose either Menswear or Women's wear for design; both are a part of a Fashion Degree from Westminster.  What the guide or Mimi failed to mention is that as early as the second year, students are paired with a major fashion industry leader to create a line.  I think that's HUGE!
Again, it's the vibe I got from Mimi over the phone that she was either not impressed or she was discouraged.  Should I tell her this is where her favorite Alexander McQueen studied?

Just about all of the fashion and art schools are going to be very difficult to gain admissions to, that's a fact.  The sweeter the victory when she gets in!
