Central Saint Martins
London
Visit and Tour
For information on this fashion school, please visit my May 31st posting
Central Saint Martin's Granary Building used to be an old mill so they use the space for a open concept for the students. Painters mix with sculptures, with fashion students, and so on.
Although many rooms were closed for cleaning over the summer break, Mimi said it felt like a "small city". This is the loom room
This is her first tour in England where she wasn't the only participant - she met prospective students from Philadelphia, Tokyo and India!
Central Saint Martin's gave Mimi the impression that it will be hard to gain admission, but so worth the try.
This is a design based fashion school - you can even have a seamstress for your final line! The school is focused on your design, not your construction.
Mimi really loved the school and atmosphere - even though they support a foundation year. I like the way they support a fashion students rounded out education, and Mimi understands the importance of this as well. She's just eager to be sewing and designing on a higher education level. Can't blame her!
Such a cool building
I have been told that the headmaster roller skates around the building!
Monday will be a tour and visit of Westminster School of Art - I love my reports from Mimi!
